then:
✅ operate legally until 1 July 2028, ✅ continue can give paper peace, ✅ and not be obliged to issue an e-certificate, as OPG is not technically suitable for this.
When will e-consumption become truly universal?
👉 After 1 July 2028, when online cash registers will be phased out for good. From that date:
- OPG can no longer be used,
- receipt only by e-wallet can be set up,
- which automatically means e-rest.
In summary: From September 2026, it is not the e-receipt that will be mandatory, but the electronic receipt reporting.
In practice, the e-wave will become inevitable with the phasing out of OPGs in 2028.

- hardware-based, or
- cloud-based (cloud) system.
Both solutions are legally applicable, the choice depends on the business's operations and IT environment.
What will happen to the current online cash register?
If the company is currently online cash register (OPG) - for example, a PC-based system with access control - then:
- from 1 July 2025 can voluntarily switch to an e-wallet,
- the OPG still temporarily usable,
- en No longer applicable after 1 July 2028 for the activities concerned.
This is particularly important for those planning for the longer term with existing access control or integrated systems.
